Compute
Resources
This module unifies the management of data center infrastructure hardware resources, including servers, networking devices, and storage systems. The management platform has a root cloud resource node named Resources. To manage physical resources through the management platform, you must manually add the resources to the root node. The following figure shows the relationship between the cloud resource management nodes. A host can be managed by the management platform only after you add the host to a data center. You can create clusters in a data center and add a host to a cluster for management. You can configure high availability settings for hosts in a cluster. After you enable high availability for a cluster, the management platform performs real-time monitoring on all hosts and VMs in the cluster. When a host or VM fails, the management platform migrates the VMs on the host or the VM to other hosts in the cluster. A host refers to a physical server that runs the virtualization software and provides resources to VMs.
