Configure NTP settings

Perform this task to configure the NTP server. All hosts in the management platform synchronize to the

NTP server to ensure that they have the same system time.

Restrictions and guidelines

• To ensure correct operation of the management platform, do not edit the system time of the hosts after the NTP server is configured.

• As a best practice, configure the current management platform host as the primary NTP server.

• In an active/standby system, if the VIP is configured as the primary NTP server address, you do not need to configure the backup NTP server.

• Changing the NTP server might cause the storage cluster to malfunction if a large time skew exists between the new NTP server and the cluster. Make sure only a small time skew exists between the new NTP server and the cluster.
